RAF Pilot Officer James Harry ‘Ginger’ Lacey DFM and Bar (credited with 28 enemy aircraft destroyed), hard at work on a model aeroplane in NÂș501 Squadron’s dispersal hut at Colerne airfield, Wiltshire, England, 30th May 1941. (he died exactly 48 years later on the 30th May 1989 aged 72) IWM.
